Got my Korg SQ1 working to sequence my MFOS Soundlab minisynth earlier today. Very pleased :-)
Photos coming soon.
Spent Sunday afternoon mounting my MFOS Soundlab minisynth in a new case, complete with built-in power supply. I've also moved the output, CV ins and gate in onto the top (main) panel. This has had the additional benefit of doing away with a little earth buzz that I had with the ins and outs mounted on a seperate panel. I still plan to add additional outputs to the synth, making it more modular in usage. I'll also certainly build an echo unit into the case, along with some other modules - maybe a second LFO, a chorus effect, distortion....
I'm on Tumblr :-)

I'm currently working on several new tracks and also am in the process of producing a new fractal animation video to accompany one of them. I aim to enter, probably, 2 tracks to the upcoming Ambient Online compilation album(s) and have ideas about releasing an ambient EP in the first half of this year. Meanwhile, I'm trying to assemble various analogue synth devices into one modular system in a case; I have an oil painting that I'm itching to get on with, and I'm trying to add to my fractal images collection as and when...
As you might have noticed, I've been making a few changes to this site recently. Go on - have a look around!!
I've started trying to produce some suitable artwork with view to progressing to video production as well. Here's my first attempt at an image using the Chaotica fractal software. Very cool program that will need a considerable time input from me.... I'm learning :-)
I've just put a new video up on YouTube for my track "Nereus" from the Petroglyph Music 2016 Xmas compilation album. Here it is :-)
Thought I'd repost this one. Great track, cool video :-)
I've put a new video for my track "Cryoviva" up on YouTube. Enjoy :-)
I've contributed a track to the Xmas 2016 compilation album from Petroglyph Music. The track is called "Nereus" and is track 90 of the compilation. Lots of other really cool contributions from other electronic musicians on there too. You can find it here; https://archive.org/details/Petroglyph507-TheX-MasCompilation2016
I've released my album "Become The Sea Itself" on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and the usual other digital sources. It's out today !!!!
Great to see that Music From Outer Space - the very best resource for home synth builders on the web - are back up 'n' running. It's being operated by Debra Wilson now after Ray Wilson sadly passed away.
According to the website, plans are afoot to offer 5U and Eurorack formats of MFOS modules. For the now, all of Ray's fantastic synth designs seem to be available again, along with a wealth of synth and electronics information :-)
The MFOS website is here;
I'm having great fun at the moment messing with synths various. I've recently got hold of a Moog Werstatt and a Korg SQ-1 (details on gear page coming soon :-)). The SQ-1 sequences the Werkstatt perfectly and the 2 in combination make all kinds of fun noises.
I'm also recording some new ambient stuff - working towards a true ambient album as my next release, whilst also mixing an EP for Less Than Three to be released soon.
I've cobbled together a couple of tracks so far as entries to the "Image inspired dare" and the "One sample dare" competitions on the marvellous Ambient Online forum, and am also currently polishing off another one for the latest "dare". Busy times :-), but loads of fun :-) :-)
I've just put my new album "Become The Sea Itself" up on Nimbit for digital download as .mp3 or .wav on a name-your-price basis. Get there and download it!!!
It's out!!! My new ambient music album "Become The Sea Itself" is out today on Bandcamp. You can hear it here on the player on the Sound and Vision page.
I think it's my best work to date, but they all say that....
My new ambient/chill album will be called "Become The Sea Itself" and will be released next week, all being well. For now, I've put a couple of taster tracks up on Soundcloud :-)
Soundcloud have started offering Internet "radio" streams. I've set up a YnotB radio that plays music similar to mine. Great to chill to. Check it out :-)
Sad news indeed. Ray wilson of Music From Outer Space passed away on 21st July after battling cancer.
His approach of providing readily available designs, parts, kits and generous advice to home synth builders was inspirational. He will be greatly missed.
